Match Report - Bures Vs Abberton 25/05/03

Bures 75 all out, Abberton 76 for 1.

Another defeat for the league side, again weakened by the absence of many regular players.

Batting first, Bures were quickly in trouble with only Whitthread & Chambers C. making double figures. Chambers C. threatened briefly with a fine six amongst his 22 but he soon perished and so did McKenna, out to a fine catch (again!). The highlight of the innings might well have been a gutsy ninth wicket stand of 12 between Mitch and Richard Chunnoo to gain us a solitary batting point!

Faced with such a small target, Abberton cruised home with Chambers C. taking the only wicket.

Man of the Match - Tyson the Labrador, ball fetcher extraordinaire impervious to nettles, wasps and water.
