Report - Bures vs. Twinstead 15/05/04 Bures
114 (33 overs) (James
Lee 40) Twinstead
71 for 8 (33 overs) Bures
won by 43 runs. Match
Report by Lewis Chambers The
Bures skipper won the toss and elected to bat. Slow wicket and VERY long
outfield suggested a low score. Home team obliged and in their allotted
33 overs mustered 114. James Lee batted well for 40, with other
contributors along the way.
Visitors reply started badly after a juicy full toss from McKenna to
open the innings, which was despatched for four, he quickly settled and
turned in a stunning performance netting 7 wickets! Twinstead unused to
chasing any sort of total quickly settled for stodge. Their innings
lacked any ambition to win the game, notwithstanding the meagre score of
the home team. To some derision the eighth wicket partnership patted
back the final four overs of the innings scoring just 3 runs; with 8
overs to go the visitors needed approx 45 runs for victory. Hardly
onerous. Final score 71 for 8.
Back to the Swan; the best part of the day lay ahead (apart from Pat's
bowling).
